The library news is all about National Simultaneous Storytime – an event held all around the country, where children read the same book at the same time. This year the book chosen was “Family Tree” by Josh Pyke and almost 100 participants from OAC logged in to hear the story being told using Auslan language. Staff and students got right into the spirit of the event by dressing up.
Marden Education Centre also held 3 competitions to encourage students to really engage with the story, using the themes of family or nature. The standard of entries was very high which made judging very difficult. Students will get to see a glimpse of all the efforts in their next library lesson.
A huge congratulations to everyone who entered and the winners from each category are…
Best Costume: Aubrey
Best Research (we had two winners): Catherine, Griffin
Best Creation: Olivia and Ruby
